PORT OF SETÚBAL

Description

The Port of Setúbal is a port located in the Sado Estuary, that possesses natural conditions for maritime access and protection. It operates 24 h/day and 365 days/year.

 

Port of Setúbal has land accesses by road: direct access to the national road network of highways, in external route to the urban limits of the city of Setúbal, without crossroads with railways. It is 40 km far away from the city of Lisbon, by highway (40 min); 151 km from the border with Spain, 600 km from Madrid, by highway and by rail direct connection from within the General Cargo, Ro-ro and Container terminals; it also has a direct connection to national and international rail systems.

 

Both connections to the port of Setúbal are electrified. Its diversified activities are developed and distributed in two main areas: firstly, the shore line front, were activities related to fishing, nautical recreation, cultural and leisure activities take place; secondly, the commercial area (scoping 11 km), were activities connected to maritime commerce are located.
